Privacy policy
Last updated 27 September 2026
This policy explains what personal data the Hora app (“Hora”, “the app”) collects, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Hora is published by Remya Ar (“we”, “us”), who is responsible for your data. You can reach us at help@horaapp.com.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Sign-in details. When you sign in with Apple or Google we receive your name, email address and an account identifier from that provider. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we receive Apple's relay address instead.
- Birth details. Your date of birth, and optionally your time and place of birth, which we use to work out your zodiac sign and personalise your horoscope.
- Profile photo, if you add one.
- Chat messages you send to astrologers in the app, and their replies.
- Feedback, such as liking or disliking a horoscope, and problem reports you send from the app.
Information collected automatically
- Device and app information: device model, operating system version, app version, time zone and language.
- Usage information: which screens and features you use, and when.
- Push notification token, if you allow notifications.
- Purchase information: your subscription status and purchases of chat questions. Payments are handled by Apple; we never see your card details.
- Diagnostics: crash reports and error logs that help us fix problems.
- Advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you allow tracking when the app asks. You can change this at any time in iPhone Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
How we use it
- To provide the app: create your account, show horoscopes for your sign, run chats with astrologers, and deliver what you buy. (Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.)
- To send notifications you have agreed to receive. (Consent, which you can withdraw in iPhone Settings.)
- To understand how the app is used, measure which campaigns bring new users, and fix crashes. (Our legitimate interest in running and improving the app; tracking only with your consent.)
- To answer your support requests and keep the service secure. (Legitimate interest.)
Horoscope texts are written with the help of AI and are the same for everyone of the same sign; they are not generated from your personal data.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that process it on our behalf:
| Provider | What for |
|---|---|
| Google Cloud | Hosting our servers and database |
| Apple and Google | Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In |
| Google Firebase | Push notifications and app configuration |
| Google Gemini | Helping our astrologers draft replies to chat messages; the message you sent is processed to suggest a reply, which an astrologer reviews |
| Apphud | Managing subscriptions and purchases |
| Amplitude | Usage analytics |
| AppsFlyer | Measuring which ads and campaigns bring new users |
| Bugsee | Crash and error reports |
We may also disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the service.
Some of these providers process data outside your country, including in the United States and Brazil. Where the law requires it, these transfers are protected by standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, it is deactivated straight away and you are signed out. You can also email help@horaapp.com to have all remaining data, including your chats and birth details, permanently erased; we do this within 30 days. Accounts inactive for more than 24 months may be deleted. Analytics and crash data are kept by the providers above according to their own retention settings.
Deleting your account
In the app, go to Profile and tap Delete account. You can also email help@horaapp.com from the address linked to your account.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the EU and UK GDPR and California law, you may have the right to:
- get a copy of your personal data;
- correct data that is wrong (you can edit your birth details in the app's Profile);
- have your data erased;
- object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- complain to your local data protection authority.
To use any of these rights, email help@horaapp.com. We reply within 30 days.
Children
Hora is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We protect your data with encrypted connections, access controls on our servers and admin tools, and regular backups. No system is perfectly secure, so if we learn of a breach that affects you we will tell you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
